SPARKS: From Band-Aids
to Breakthroughs

What is SPARKS?

More than just a catchy acronym, SPARKS offers a refreshing way to reconnect with yourself - without the overwhelm of traditional self-care checklists, or the guilt that creeps in when self-sacrificers start admitting they have needs too. It’s a practical, compassionate framework that supports six essential areas of wellbeing - without adding to your mental load.

At the heart of the SPARKS approach is a simple but powerful shift: moving from DOING to BEING.

It’s not about how much you accomplish - or how perfectly you tick off your self-care to-do list. It’s about knowing you’re already enough, even when you're not producing, performing, or fixing.

In this 50-second video, Danielle shares her own lightbulb moment: realising that even her self-care had become another form of over-functioning. Another list. Another task. All geared toward achieving for others - clients, family, friends - and even herself.
What was missing? Space. Self-trust. And the ability to feel grounded in who she was, not just what she did.
SPARKS is here to flip that script.
It’s about more than saying “I'm okay.”

It’s about actually being okay - so you can show up for yourself and others in ways that are sustainable, fulfilling, and actually aligned with who you are.

Is the SPARKS Group Coaching Program Right For You?
How many of these statements sound a little too familiar?

“I would have nodded along to every single one of these statements just 18 months ago. So if they hit too close to home, please know you’re not alone. In fact, you are exactly who I created the SPARKS Group Coaching Program for. These aren’t surface-level struggles - they’re signs of deep-rooted patterns and old pathways that no amount of bubble baths or Pilates classes can re-route (and no amount of PD can 'cure'). If you’re ready to go deeper and finally rewrite those unhelpful stories, the SPARKS Coaching Program is here for you”.

Feel Good Enough - In and Out of the therapy room!

The Origin of SPARKS: My Story

Like so many of you, I became a therapist because I wanted to help others. But as the years went by, I found myself caught in the same patterns I saw in my clients - overextending, second-guessing, and feeling like no amount of effort would ever be “enough.” I was helping everyone but myself, slowly burning out and feeling trapped in a cycle that no amount of traditional self-care could fix.

When I hit my own breaking point, I knew I needed to dig deeper. I began exploring the root causes of burnout and self-sacrifice, both in myself and in other therapists. What I found was that many of us carry these struggles from unmet needs dating back to childhood - needs that often drew us to the very profession we love - but leave us vulnerable to over-giving and perfectionism.

That’s why I created SPARKS. It’s the framework I wish I’d had from the start - an approach that goes beyond quick fixes to help us heal, grow, and thrive as therapists and individuals. With SPARKS, you’ll gain tools to stop running on empty and finally feel like you’re doing enough for both yourself and others.

What if you could… Imagine if you could let go of that constant inner critic, feel confident in the choices you make, and stop feeling like you’re never quite enough—both as a therapist and as a person. SPARKS is here to help you do just that, plus give you the practical tools to feel less exhausted and more you.

I’m Danielle, a Clinical Psychologist and practice owner, and I know what it’s like to be in your shoes. That’s why I created SPARKS, a framework designed specifically to meet therapists' real needs - not the surface ones we try and address with traditional self-care, but the ones at the core that fuel those burnout cycles. SPARKS is about tackling the roots of self-sacrifice and perfectionism, so you can finally feel like you’re enough without the struggle.

This approach is packed with evidence-based tools and exercises that fit into your busy life without adding to your mental load. SPARKS will help you:

  • Feel more present and less pressured,

  • Make choices that prioritise your well-being,

  • Build lasting resilience through small, impactful shifts, and

  • Finally start to feel GOOD ENOUGH - both in AND out of the therapy room.

P.S. As a SPARKS participant, you’ll become part of a supportive community of like-minded therapists and gain access to tools you can use for yourself and your clients.

FAQs about SPARKS

  • While SPARKS was designed by a therapist and with therapists in mind, many of the insights and tools can benefit anyone in a caring profession, including teachers, first responders, and other healthcare workers. SPARKS tackles underlying patterns of self-sacrifice and perfectionism that often lead to burnout, so if that resonates with you, you’re most welcome here!

  • SPARKS is designed to fit into your life with small, sustainable changes. The resources, prompts, and exercises can be done in short bursts, helping you build resilience without adding stress. And you won't believe how much extra time you have when you're no longer relying on 4 hours of doom-scrolling and reality-tv bingeing to get through your day!

  • Don’t worry! All group coaching sessions are recorded, so you can catch up at your convenience. You’ll still be able to participate in the private group discussions, share reflections, and receive feedback.

  • Yes, you can absolutely take parts of the SPARKS approach and start using them with your clients right away. And like anything else, the deeper you dive and the more you learn and implement for yourself, the more you’ll be able to effectively share with your clients.

  • Absolutely! SPARKS can be tailored for workplaces and organisations that support others - whether that’s through education, healthcare, community work, or beyond.

It’s designed to strengthen workplace wellbeing by addressing common psychosocial factors that contribute to stress - like competing demands, limited autonomy, dealing with the limitations of our roles, and a lack of easily accessible support (e.g., in rural areas).

Through SPARKS, teams can build shared language, prioritise strategies that sustain their well-being, and align with best-practice frameworks for creating mentally healthy, supportive environments.

Want to explore what that could look like in your setting? Get in touch - we’re happy to create a training option that fits your needs and culture.

Everything you need for therapist well-being is in one place!
